Helmut, a humble German guy, arrives in Russia on the eve of May 9 (WWII Commemoration Day) to propose a marriage to beautiful Aliona. They got acquainted in Berlin, and now the happy couple decides to visit Aliona’s home village to present a groom to her relatives. However, Tolia, an ex-husband of Aliona, in a sudden urge to reconquer his former wife arrives to the village at the same time. The visit turns into romantic rivalry, with involvement of friends, relatives and other villagers such as a businessman, who bought the house next door, disoriented tank driver and even a snake.
